Vancouver Canucks vs. Boston Bruins: Boston in 7
Additional note(s): Man, it's so hard to predict who will win the Stanley Cup because both teams have stellar goaltenders in Roberto Luongo (Vancouver) and Tim Thomas (Boston). It really could go either way, but I like Boston's grit, so I'm going with them. Plus, that Zdeno Chara is a beast.
For the record, my predictions for the last round sucked. Didn't get either one of them right.

Another tough one to call, WT. I have to agree with you in that both teams have outstanding goaltending and the series will most likely go 7 games, though for myself I'm giving the nod to the Canucks. True, the Bruins have Chara and plenty of grit, but I think Vancouver has the overall edge in talent, especially if Kessler and the Sedins break out in a big way. But we'll see - - should be a good series, regardless! Given that the Bruins haven't won the Cup since the early 70's and that Vancouver has never won it in its 40 years of play, one of these team's long dry spell is about to come to an end!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're right about this round. Tim Thomas is awesome! (And also "a jolly looking fellow" according to my dad, who is apparently channeling a nineteenth century English gentleman now.)
ReplyDeleteGo Canucks!
ReplyDeleteLarry- It will be interesting to see if the Sedins actually show up. It's weird that they've been non-existent in the playoffs so far.
ReplyDeleteAubrey- LOL! Your dad is a riot. I'm still guffawing over the Keith Jones incident.
Teena- I didn't think Maple Leafs fans would root for another Canadian team (or is that just the case as far as the Canadiens are concerned?)
We hope that your incorrect picks in the last round is not a harbinger of things to come here. Andy was pleased to see you like Boston's grit - Vancouver may be more talented, but scrappy play can sometimes be the intangible that gets you all the way.
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree with Aubrey's dad - Timmaaaay does look like a jolly fellow - especially when he curls his crazy playoff mustache up at the ends.
