Put This In The "Don't Confuse Education With Intelligence" File

Yesterday afternoon, one of the teachers I work with was seriously trying to convince me that the national language of Spain was PortugesePhotobucket Portugese is the national language of Portugal and Brazil, sweetie. Where does she think the term "Spanish" originated?

Balls Of Steel

I hope my brother won't mind me writing about this, but it's too damn funny not to share...

A few days before Christmas, Bart was at his son Garett's basketball game and was sprawled out in the stands, sitting like most guys do, with his legs spread apart. At first, he didn't notice anything out of the ordinary because he was so intent on the game, but he gradually started to feel, in his words, "drafty". It wasn't until he looked down at himself that he noticed that one of his...*ahem*..."boys"...was hanging out of a hole not only in his jeans, but also his underwear.

I don't even want to know how the holes got there in the first place. Thank God Mom bought him some new boxers for Christmas.

Guess what I found in my mailbox this afternoon when I got home from work? The August issue of Brides magazine. *rolling eyes*

Things That Make Me Say, "What The Hell?!?"

This magazine was in my mailbox this morning. A fact that I find very odd for the following reasons:

1. I have never had a subscription to Brides magazine (nor will I ever).
2. I am not working in any bridal related business.
3. I'm not planning a wedding any time soon.
4. Hell, I don't even have a boyfriend.

I was convinced the postal worker put it in my mailbox by mistake, but no- it had my name and address on the label.

Very funny, Universe. You could have at least given me a magazine that I'll actually have a chance to use.

Wondering

What is up lately with companies butchering 80's songs to sell their products? Sonic's "You Can Do Magic" and Old Navy's "Fascination" commercials are bad enough, but why the hell did H&M choose Duran Duran's highly sexual "Girls On Film" to advertise their back-to-school clothes? Yuck.

Really, People Magazine?

142 people are dead and more than 100 are still missing after the devastating tornado in Joplin, Missouri, yet they're relegated to the bottom corner on the cover of this weeks' issue so Kim Kardashian can flaunt her brand new 20.5 carat diamond engagement ring?

Tornado survivors have lost their loved ones and their homes, but hey, who cares about their misery? KIM'S ENGAGED! *sarcasm* That's all that matters. */sarcasm*

Poorly played, People. You couldn't push that engagement story back one week to put the spotlight on the "regular" people who really need our help?
