Stanley Cup Playoffs 2011: Quarterfinal Predictions
Eastern Conference:
(1) Washington Capitals vs. (8) New York Rangers: Capitals in 6
(2) Philadelphia Flyers vs. (7) Buffalo Sabres: Flyers in 7
(3) Boston Bruins vs. (6) Montreal Canadiens: Bruins in 5
(4) Pittsburgh Penguins vs. (5) Tampa Bay Lightning: Lightning in 7
Additional note(s): As much as I like watching the Caps, Flyers, and Lightning, I am the most excited over the Boston-Montreal match up. I can't wait to watch Canadiens fans lose their shit any time Zdeno Chara is seen and/or mentioned. I hope the city of Montreal is increasing police patrols; if the Bruins win the series, I can see the Les Habitants faithful burning cars, smashing shop windows, and overturning cars in protest.
Western Conference:
(1) Vancouver Canucks vs. (8) Chicago Blackhawks: Canucks in 6
(2) San Jose Sharks vs. (7) Los Angeles Kings: Sharks in 5
(3) Detroit Red Wings vs. (6) Phoenix Coyotes: Coyotes in 7
(4) Anaheim Ducks vs. (5) Nashville Predators: Predators in 7
Additional note(s): "Dear eight pound, six ounce , newborn Baby Jesus, don't even know a word yet, just a little infant, so cuddly but still omnipotent", please please PLEASE do me a favor and take out the Dead Things (*cough Evil Red Empire) and the Shithawks (especially the Douche Lord) in round one. Lets go Coyotes and Sharks!

The looney Habs fans burn and smash things if they win too. Either people are messed up in Montreal or else there's not much to do there.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Additional note to your WC notes: Ditto (and go Preds), hallelu-yer, amen.
I must agree that things really may get rather crazy in Montreal, especially if the series is a lengthy, 7-game affair. Plenty of fights both on and off the ice, methinks.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty much on side with your predictions, Julie. The only two series where I feel somewhat differently is in the Pens-Lightning series (I'm taking the Pens to win in 7: maybe in 6 if Crosby returns), and I'm afraid I like the Wings over the 'Yotes (sorry WT, I know you really don't want to hear that)!
You know, both the Hawks and the Rangers got into the playoffs through the back door, relying on the Stars and Hurricanes, respectively, to lose their final regular season games in order to qualify. Personally, I was hoping that neither the Hawks nor the Rangers would make it in: I didn't want to see the Leafs as the only so-called "Original Sixer" to be left out on the sidelines. Alas, it was not meant to be, such is my luck.....enjoy the games, my friend!
Aubrey- I think Habs fans are just crazy :) I forgot about what happened last season after Halak got them to the conference finals.
ReplyDeleteLarry- I know the Dead Things will more than likely win the series, but a tiny part of my soul dies any time I have to put Detroit and win in the same sentence :)
Alas, Toronto is out :(
ReplyDeleteI guess we can look on the bright side: if Detroit gets past Phoenix, chances are they won't get past Vancouver!
ReplyDeleteHey, what the heck is happening to the Bruins? They're collapsing faster than a house of cards!
Teena- My Blues didn't make it either, so I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteLarry- I wish I knew what was going on with the Bruins. I didn't think they were going to have that much trouble with the Canadiens.
The Bruins have come back nicely now. But now it looks like the Canucks are the team about to choke!
