Year In Review: 2011

  1. What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before? Had my first mammogram. It wasn't as bad (or scary) as I was expecting it to be.
  2. Did you keep your New Years' Resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I didn't make any resolutions at this time last year. I knew I wouldn't keep them, so why bother? Same for this year.

  8. What was your biggest accomplishment? Finally got up the nerve to go to the dentist after 10 years of chickening out. I was lucky that I only needed one small filling.
  9. What was your biggest failure? Continuing to gain weight. Giving in to depression, self-doubt, anxiety, and other negative feelings. Wasting time.
  10. Did you suffer any illness or injury? I was pretty healthy this year, thank God.
  11. What was the best thing you bought? I didn't buy it, but my parents and stepmom gave me a portable ice maker for Christmas. I love it!

On my actual birthday, my brother and one of his friends came up for a visit. They surprised me with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and then we had lunch at Couri's.
  30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? A longer summer break. It sucked getting out of school on June 14th, only to have to turn around and go back August 18th. Oh, and significant weight loss.

  1. Hey Julie! A very Happy New Year to you!

It's nice to see you had some fun times (such as the concert and the hockey games), to help offset the less-than-stellar moments. I am again sorry for the personal losses and grief that struck you and your family this past year. On the whole, I think you may agree with me that 2011 was far from a perfect year. Here's hoping that 2012 improves on that for both of us.

    Points #9, 14, 18 and 19 - - I can SO relate!!

Point #10 - - I wish I could say the same for myself. I am relieved that you yourself didn't suffer through any major maladies, and I hope it's the same story for you again in 2012 (and hopefully it'll be a healthier year for me, too)!

Thank you again for your kind shout-out of me in point #32. I will admit to the same feelings for you, my friend. Incidentally, who is this new best person, Erin, you have met (if I may ask)? A co-worker?

Enjoy that awesome ice maker, WT! And I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all your wishes and desires from point #6 come true this year!! You'll have to keep me apprised, please!

    Cheers!!

  2. Thanks, WT! I hope your 2012 is a memorable one, but in only a good way :)May we both achieve our goals and have good things come our way.

Oh, Erin is one of the physical therapists who works with the kids in my class. She's so funny!

  3. Thanks again Julie for the well-wishes and the feedback. Erin sounds like a lot of fun!

One thing I can add, since your survey mentions Adele (whom Wendy also likes): she's rumoured to be one of the contenders to supply the next James Bond theme song (for the upcoming Bond flick "SkyFall"). Would love to see it happen!
